KENNEWICK, Wash. -- The Kennewick Irrigation District says their water supply is lower than they thought.
The Bureau of Reclamation says their prorating percentage for junior water right holders is at 71% of their normal water supply, instead of the 77% they anticipated.
KID is a junior water rights holder.
KID is asking all rural urban customers to water on an odd and even basis in an effort to help alleviate pressure problems, and ensure that everyone receives adequate water.
They are asking neighborhoods to work together by creating a watering plan.
KID is also asking all agricultural customers not to use more than their daily water allotment when ordering water. Excess water will not be available.
