KENNEWICK, Wash. -- Finally, the Tri-Cities Fever have their first win, a 44-39 win over division leading Fairbanks. On Saturday, the Fever trailed 20-0 to start the game but then their offense started to click and their defense turned up the pressure.
The Fever look to make it 2 straight when they play at the Kent Predators on Sunday.
Coach Adam Shackleford says this first win means a lot.
"I won a lot of games in my last job and a world championship and this win is just as special and maybe even more than any of those because this team has fought so hard to get that first win," said Shackleford.
"Im excited to finally get that first win," said Fever Receiver Ray Little. "Now, we can just get on a roll. I think we got off to a slow start because of all the bye weeks at the beginning of the season. Now, we're able to put some games back-to-back, so we're going to be good."
