DOT wants community's input on location for rebuilt SR-410
NILE VALLEY--Six months after a landslide wiped out State Route 410 in the Nile Valley, the Washington State Department of Transportation is getting ready to rebuild the road.
A sudden landslide early in the morning of Sunday, October 11, 2009 did severe damage to SR-410 and limited access to and from the Nile Valley for roughly six weeks.
Since then, geotechnical crews have surveyed and studied the landslide to determine where and when the road may be able to be rebuilt. Initial studies suggest building the road around the landslide, rather than on top of the dirt that piled atop the old SR-410.
Thursday, DOT will host a meeting at the Nile Community Church from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. to get community feedback on where to build the new SR-410.
