OLYMPIA, Wash. - Supporters of the Tea Party movement, including local groups from the Yakima Valley, gathered at the state capitol Thursday to express their frustration with elected leaders.
"People are tired," said Kirk Groening on the phone from Olympia. "It's we the people not we the government and we are not going to take this anymore.
Groenig leads the "Remember Us We the People" Tea Party group representing the Yakima and Ellensburg region. He says they don't believe elected leaders are spending taxpayer money wisely.
Tea Party members say the government has been on a spending binge for the last two to three years. They also say they will hold politicians in all parties accountable.
Groenig say there were about 45 people that he saw from the Yakima Valley at the event.
