YAKIMA--There are only a few more hours left until the deadline to remove your studded tires passes.
The original April 1 deadline was pushed back twice because of winter weather on mountain passes, but at midnight Sunday all studs must be removed from tires.
At Wholesale Tire Mart in Yakima, people are looking for different ways to save money.
"A lot more people are pulling the studs out of their snow tires to run them all year round instead of buying new ones," mechanic Stuart Howell said. "It's probably a better idea to buy new ones because they'll last you multiple years."
Normally tire shops see a rush right before the deadline, but business was more spread out due to the mild winter.
Howell said Wholesale Tire Mart has sold many more used tires than in previous years.
