Local Winners from Pasco Invite

Pasco, WA--

     Once again the Pasco Invite showcased some of the best track and field high school athletes in the state of Washington.  Roughly 100 schools and more than 1300 competitors laced it up at a chance to claim the top prize.  Early in the afternoon, Derek Eager, a senior from Mt. Tahoma High School claimed the state mark in javelin.  He threw his javelin 229 feet and 5 inches. 

     Now here is a list of your local area athletes who took home first place in their respective events:

Girls 100 Meter Hurdles:  Andrea Smith of Southridge High School with a time of 15.05.

4 X 400 Meter Relay: West Valley High School in Yakima with a time of 3:59.60.

Girls High Jump: Audrey Ketchman of Wenatchee High School with a leap of 5-08.00.

Girls Shot Put: Jessica Bush of Eisenhower High School with a throw of 40-07.50.

Girls Javelin: Christine Kirkwood of Othello High School with a throw of 153-10.

Boy's 100 Meter Dash: Marques Avery of Pasco High School with a time of 10.95.

Boy's 110 Meter Hurdles:  Garrett Gerling of Walla Walla High School with a time of 14.38.
