YAKIMA--The local Rock and Mineral Club "rocked" the Central Washington State Fairgrounds this weekend.
Hundreds of people stopped in to study rocks, gems and minerals, and also create different works of art from the stones.
One vendor says it's an educational and affordable experience.
"You can find a lot of your rocks and gems laying in the ground," Pam Drake said. "You get to go with clubs like Yakima club out to hunt for things."
The Rock and Mineral Club uses proceeds from the show to fund college scholarships for area youth interested in geological fields of study.
