Prospective jurors interviewed for murder trial

Posted: Updated:

Pasco, WA- Prosecutors and defense attorneys have started interviewing prospective jurors for an upcoming murder trial.

Superior Court Judge Cameron Mitchell has assembled more than 160 people to the Franklin County Courthouse as potential jurors in the trial of Vicente Ruiz. Ruiz is accused of being the second shooter in the murders of five men in a Pasco auto body shop 23 years ago.

The judge this afternoon excused some prospective jurors for medical reasons or because their work schedules conflicted with the trial, which could last a month or longer.

Testimony is scheduled to begin next week.
