Over $3.6 million for affordable housing to Eastern Wash.

WASHINGTON -- U.S. Housing and Urban Development is giving nearly $72.2 million in community development and affordable housing funds in Washington. Of that, Yakima and the Tri-Cities will see over $3.6 million. Here's the break down:

Yakima: $1,961,178
Kennewick: $618,526
Pasco: $667,834
Richland: $976,069

Total: $3,605,081

The money will be used to support community development, produce more affordable housing, serve homeless families and individuals and provide permanent housing for people living with HIV/AIDS.
