West Richland narrows candidates for Police Chief

WEST RICHLAND, Wash.-- West Richland city leaders are closer to finding a new Police Chief.

Today we've learned they are down to six possible candidates to take over after former chief Layne Erdman was asked to resign at the beginning of the year.

Four candidates are from Washington. The closest is Brian McElroy, a sergeant with Ellensburg police.

New mayor Donna Noski as well as community boards will interview the candidates before a final selection is made.

Frederic Havener, Everett, WA

Donald Payne-Davis, Des Moines, WA

Robert Spinx, Sequim, WA

Gary Jenkins, Rancho Cucamonga, CA

Andrew Staubitz, Mesa, AZ
