Tri-Cities business learning to get Google savvy

Posted: Updated:

Pasco, WA- An Internet marketing expert says most businesses in the Mid Columbia are losing the battle in the Internet war.

Michael Belba told business owners attending today's Tri Cities Visitor & Convention Bureau seminar that having a web site isn't enough. Belba says business can't rely on customers finding their web site. They need to go where the people are going, through video, Webcasts, RS Feeds, podcasts, and social media.

Belba says a business owner's goal should be to take over the Google front page. "If you're not on the front page of Google, it does no good, because 90 percent of people find what they want on the front page. So if you're not on the front page, you're not getting any traffic from it."

If you search "news', chances are good you'll find KNDU on the Google front page. That's one example of smart key-word phrasing to dominate Google search engines.
