River View horticulture students sell their plants
Finley, WA- You can get a jump on your spring gardening this weekend at the River View High School annual plant sale.
The horticulture students are selling everything they've been growing in the school greenhouses: young vegetable plants, annual flowers, and hanging baskets.
Horticulture teacher Jennifer Yochum says the students are in charge from the moment they plant the first seeds. "We're out here planting, transplanting, pinching. They're in charge. I just show them how to do it, turn them loose, and they come out and have fun."
Proceeds from the sale pay for the plants and pots, and also help pay for FFA trips during the school year.
The greenhouse opens at nine O' clock tomorrow morning. The sale goes on until four in the afternoon.
