ZILLAH--The biggest wine weekend of the year for Central Washington has come and gone.
Hyatt Vineyards had slightly smaller crowds this weekend compared to Spring Barrels in past years, but despite that, manager Carrie Curtin said business was strong.
Sales didn't decline noticeably from 2009.
Hyatt's one of the oldest vineyards in the Yakima Valley. They try to draw in customers with a wine not found in many other tasting rooms.
"Our [zinfandel] is pretty exceptional," Curtin said. "There aren't a lot of zinfandels in Washington, frankly, and we do have a kind of fun name for it, Zillah Gorilla Zinfandel."
Curtin said they've recently started selling Zillah Gorilla Zinfandel on a national level.
Sales of all their wines have been so strong recently, Curtin said they're considering expansion.
