YAKIMA, Wash. -- A Toppenish man will spend nine years in prison for an attempted robbery at the West Valley Walmart that happened earlier this year.
A Yakima judge sentenced Daniel Alfred Posey Friday for the January 24th crime.
Prosecutors said Posey was released from jail two days prior to committing his next crime. His latest sentence was actually 2 1/2 years longer than the standard range.
Posey was serving time for failing to register as a sex offender.
Prosecutors said Posey is a convicted rapist, whose 2004 life sentence was overturned by the Washington State Supreme Court because he was 16 at the time.
