Potential jurors questioned about their knowledge of murder case
Pasco, WA- Prosecutors and defense attorneys continue whittling away at a long list of prospective jurors for a high profile murder trial.
One by one, potential jurors are being brought into the Franklin County courtroom where Vicente Ruiz sits with his interpreter.
Ruiz is accused of murdering five men in a Pasco auto body shop 23 years ago.
Attorneys are asking 162 prospective jurors what they can recall from TV and newspaper reports about the murders.
The defense team argues because of media coverage, they won't be able to find an impartial jury in Franklin county. The public defenders have indicated they will ask the judge to move the trial out of Franklin County.
