Internationally renown doctors speak in Yakima Friday
Yakima, WASH--Imagine getting business advice from Donald Trump or basketball tips from Kobe Bryant. That's what the Yakima County health district is doing for our health care providers.
It's National Infant Immunization Week and some of the most knowledgeable doctors in the industry are coming to town. This can mean great things for your health care.
The Yakima County Health District is putting on a vaccine safety conference Friday morning. So why is that such a big deal? The speakers are the Director of Immunizations for the Center for Disease control and an immunization specialist from children's hospital in Philadelphia. They are two of the biggest experts on this issue in the world. They'll be sharing what they know and Yakima Health care providers are getting a front row seat.
150 doctors, nurses, and medical assistants will participate at the live conference at the Yakima regional auditorium. Another 85 in the valley will watch via video conference. This is such a big deal in fact, that health care providers across the region including Seattle and Portland will be tuning in.
If you have a question about immunizations, the best thing to do is ask your doctor or nurse. You can also log onto the health district web site for any info you need to know.
