Hundreds drop off hazardous waste

Posted: Updated:

Hundreds of people waited in line behind the Toyota Center in Kennewick to drop off old household waste they have collected over time.

Electronics were not accepted this year at the waste collection event but all other hazardous waste products people found around their homes could be brought in and safely thrown out by the Benton County Risk Waste Facility.

Workers say the most common items dropped of include old paint, batteries and more dangerous chemicals such as antifreeze or pesticides.
