County Commissioners seek union approval for budget fixes
Yakima, WASH--Yakima County commissioners are waiting for union leaders to weigh in on budget fixes.
Last week, the commissioners gave their top five solutions for fixing the one-point-one million-dollar budget shortfall. Three of those options, furloughs, reduced hours worked, and non-paid holidays need union approval. The unions have until May 21 to respond. If they say no, the commissioners will move forward with their other two recommendations...layoffs.
