KENNEWICK, Wash. -- Students at Tri-Tech competed in the Ford Auto Skills Competition.
Ben Quesnell and RJ Harvey competed in Seattle and not only did they beat nine other teams, they blew them out of the water. They were the only team to get a perfect score.
They worked on a car with ten mystery problems and had to diagnose the issues as fast as possible. Ben and RJ got all of them in under an hour.
The pair will go to Detroit next month to compete at Nationals.
"It's pretty crazy. I've never had anything like this happen to me before so it's pretty overwhelming. I don't know really what to think." Said Quesnell.
Harvey said, "[It] just kind of came naturally; learning how everything works, taking stuff apart and learning how to put it back together."
Both teens got $30,000 dollars in scholarship money.
