Pasco, WA- A Franklin County judge has refused to move a high profile murder trial out of the Tri-Cities.
Attorneys for Vicente Ruiz argue the majority of prospective jurors for the trial have heard about case.
Ruiz is accused of murdering five men in a Pasco auto body shop 23 years ago. Because of media coverage over the years, his defense team says Ruiz can't get a fair trial in the Tri-Cities. But Superior Court Judge Cameron Mitchell today ruled there are enough people in the jury pool who have passed muster in interviews that have taken place over the past three weeks.
Attorneys could select the 12 jurors and two alternates for the trial sometime tomorrow. Testimony is now expected to begin next week.
