The phrase working 9 to 5 does not apply to the Co-Owner of the Warriors Steve Sheldon. He starts his days at the Michelsen Packing Company at 7AM. From there his schedule simply takes off.
Sheldon said, "Some people fish and hunt and climb mountains for hobbies. I do the Sheriffs department and run the Warriors."
Priority one for Steve for the past 16 years has been Michelsen Packing. Running the transportation and logistics department.
In his spare time for the past 19 years he's been a volunteer reserve deputy at the Yakima Sheriff's office. Now as a Lieutenant, he runs the reserve program.
His most recent venture is running a professional football team.
Sheldon said, "I had no idea on what it took to run a professional football organization. I guess I thought all of that stuff happened by magic. I'm always hearing there's nothing to do in Yakima. So me and Mike Mink... We're bringing something to do in Yakima. I spend my lunch hours on Warrior projects. After work. Weekends."
Steve has lived in Yakima since he was six-years-old, and graduated from East Valley High school in 1975. As to why he's never left Yakima.
"I like the four seasons. That's a hard question."
