Local law enforcement agencies came together at the Kennewick Police Station to honor fallen officers in Washington State this past year.
The annual Police Memorial event is also intended to show appreciation for the people in our community.
To remember those who passed away, each member of law enforcement wore a black band around his or her badge.
"As everybody knows, last year in Washington State there were seven officers that fell in the line of duty, which is an unprecedented number for our state, so I think now it's even more important because there are so many," Sergeant Bryan Weatherbee said.
There was a dedication during the event to honor those fallen along with a barbeque to celebrate community support for law enforcement.
