KENNEWICK, Wash. -- A semi truck falls over an overpass on the Blue Bridge, leaving traffic backed up for hours. Luckily, the driver only suffered minor injuries, and no other cars were involved.
The truck fell about 20 or 30 feet. Driving from southbound highway 395, the truck slipped, and rolled down the embankment, landing on the eastbound lanes of State Route 240.
The accident caused a headache for other drivers; traffic was backed up for hours.
State Patrol Troopers say the 41 year old driver from Vancouver, WA was trying to pass somebody and driving too fast for the rainy conditions. The driver lost control and flipped over the edge.
Troopers say this is a reminder for everyone on the road to slow down on the overpass, especially when the roads are wet.
