Pasco, WA- The Franklin County prosecutor hopes to get a murder trial back on track by next week.
A state appellate court judge put the trial on hold Tuesday while she reviews defense attorneys claim that the jurors know too much about the case and can't be fair and impartial. Vicente Ruiz is accused of murdering five men in a Pasco auto body shop in 1987.
Prosecutor Steve Lowe says the he expects the appellate court will make a relatively quick decision on whether to disqualify the jury.
That decision could come by tomorrow or early next week.
