KENNEWICK, Wash-- A celebration months in the making shut down a section of Fourth Avenue in Kennewick Thursday.
A ribbon cutting marked the end of a year long construction project. About 2 miles of road were paved, dozens of lights put up, and room for sidewalks was made. Local leaders say it'll be a welcomed improvement.
"I think the people that live up here are going to be happy because number 1, it's going to increase safety. There's now sidewalks, bike lanes, a turn lane. And it will also ease congestion," explains Don Britain, Kennewick City Council Member.
