Pasco, WA- A Franklin County Judge refuses to move a high profile murder trial out of the Tri-Cities.
Superior Court Judge Cameron Mitchell today denied the defense team's motion for a change of venue.
Mitchell says he still believes the jury selected last week can be fair and impartial when hearing the evidence against Vicente Ruiz.
Ruiz is accused of murdering five men in a Pasco auto body shop 23 years ago.
His defense team contends Ruiz can't get a fair trial in the Tri-Cities because of the media coverage over the years.
The trial is currently on hold while an appellate court considers a defense appeal to disqualify the jury.
The appellate court could issue a ruling early next week.
