KENNEWICK, Wash. -- Kennewick Police are reminding drivers to lock their vehicles after more than a dozen cars were broken into.
The car prowls happened sometime Thursday night or early Friday morning. At 6 a.m. Friday morning Kennewick Police responded to a neighborhood with 9 reports of car prowls. The prowls happened near the 200 block of west 48th place in Kennewick. A total of 14 cars were broken into and ransacked, but only 4 cars had items take from them. They were all electronic type items such as, GPS systems, I-Pods, and MP3 players.
Police say most of the vehicles were left unlocked. Their biggest tip is "if you leave it, lock it." They also say its important to keep all valuables out of your car, if not your car could be a target.
