WAPATO--One of the Yakima Valley's oldest homes opens to the public for the first time in 35 years.
This is the 100th anniversary of the Sawyer House on Yakima Valley Highway in Wapato.
Built in 1910 by farmer and state legislator William Sawyer, the Erickson family has lived here since 1969 and for the first time since 1976, they're opening the 10,000 square foot home and grounds to anyone who wants to check it out.
"So we're really proud of this property and we've maintained it, raised five kids here, just really enjoy living here."
Erickson expects more than 3,000 people to visit this weekend.
The Sawyer House will be open again Sunday from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. The tour costs $20.
