Suspect in high-speed chase in Selah topped at 100mph

SELAH, Wash. - A 33-year-old Yakima man was arrested Sunday night after leading Yakima  Sheriff's deputies on a high-speed chase.

Deputies tried to contact the suspect on a domestic violence case in the 16,000 block of North Wenas Road, when they say he sped off in a 1993 Honda Accord.

The chase started from North Wenas Road to Longmire Road, and ended near Selah and Gore Roads after spike strips were used.

Deputies said the suspect was going between 50 and 100 mph during the pursuit.

Washington State Patrol and the Selah Police Department assisted in the arrest.

Deputies said 47-year-old female victim in the domestic assault did not require any medical treatment.

The suspect was booked into the Yakima County Jail on charges of eluding, domestic assault in violation of a protection order, and additional driving charges.
