Hermiston police looking for armed suspect

Hermiston, OR - Police in Hermiston are looking for a man suspected of shooting another man Tuesday night. The following is information sent to KNDU from the Hermiston Police Department minutes ago.

At approximately 8:10 p.m., Hermiston police officers responded to a report of a fight in progress at a 7-11 convenience store, located at 775 S Hwy 395; Hermiston, OR

When officers arrived they found Carlos Valenzuela, (18yo) of Hermiston suffering from a gunshot wound to his right arm. The suspect, Guadalupe Avina (25) of Umatilla had reportedly shot Valenzuela with a handgun and fled the scene prior to police arrival.

Hermiston Police are currently looking for Guadalupe Avina, of 210 Klickitat St, Apt F215: Umatilla, OR. He is described as a Hispanic male, 25 years of age, 5'9", 225 lbs, heavy set, light complexion, short black hair, and wears glasses.

Valenzuela was treated at Good Shepherd Medical Center.
