Nick Heilman takes the stand in Korey Ward arson trial
YAKIMA, Wash. -- In day three of the Korey Ward arson trial another member of the Mayday Mob takes the stand.
Nick Heilman testified Wednesday against Ward. Heilman said the Mayday Mob was responsible for setting around 20 fires in the Summer and Fall of 2007. The Borton Fruit Warehouse fire was the largest fire the Mob is believed to have ignited. Prosecutors allege that Ward was the ring leader of the group.
Heilman is testifying against Ward in a deal made with the prosecutors office for shorter sentences on his own arsons. Heilman has served about a year in jail. He met Ward as a teenager.
