The Value of Gold is higher than ever, Yakima community cashes in
YAKIMA, Wash.- The value of gold is higher than ever, keeping places like Parry Jewelers filled with customers.
On any given day, five or six people will go to Parry Jewelers, lay their gold out on the table and ask if any of it is valuable. They bring in anything from unwanted gold jewelry to broken bracelets and even gold teeth. Brent Hodson, the owner, has been in the jewelry business since 1979 and says gold is as valuable as he's ever seen it. In the last six months he has seen a spike in the amount of people selling their gold.
"it may go up a little bit more but this is pretty good cream of the crop right now and people are taking advantage of it and bringing things like I said that have been sitting in there jewelry box for years," said Hodson.
Employees at Parry Jewelers sort through the goods and examine every piece of gold. Transactions can vary from a few dollars to several thousands. If you don't know the value of your stuff, jewelers recommend bringing it all in.
