MATTAWA, Wash. -- Hazardous materials have been released in the Port of Mattawa, but officials say the situation is under control.
It happened about two miles northwest of the city of Mattawa around 10:00 Friday morning.
Emergency responders say ammonium hydroxide was released inside a building that serves as part of the sewage treatment plant.
No one has been injured and there is currently no need for the public to evacuate.
Fire crews, the Department of Ecology and Grant County Emergency Management are working together on this incident.
