Renewable Energy Roundup in Ellensburg

Posted: Updated:

ELLENSBURG--The green future of energy was on display in downtown Ellensburg Saturday.

Tesla electric cars drew the most attention, but at about $120,000 not everyone can conserve energy that way.

The Kittitas County Renewable Energy Roundup tried to show people some cost-efficient ways to go green.  Hundreds checked out displays and listened to experts talk about how much energy gets wasted and learn why it's so important to conserve.

"Think about energy use in the form of light that is escaping and going up into the air and being wasted that way," Steve Verhey, Roundup Chair, said.

Verhey said the roundup went so well organizers hope to make this a yearly event.

You can still check out renewable energy-themed art at Gallery One on Sunday.  The gallery is located on Pearl Street.
