KENNEWICK, Wash.-- The Southridge area of Kennewick continues to grow. Thursday, Z Place Salon and Spa broke ground on a new site.
The Tri-Cities Regional Chamber of Commerce, City of Kennewick, and other local businesses welcomed Z Place to the area. The salon's owners have been in business since 1978 and are excited to be expanding their services. Vonda Smith, co-owner, says in addition to more styling and pedicure stations, "We'll have a room where we can accommodate bridal parties. We'll have a full locker room with a nice jacuzzi tub area, 2 relaxation areas- one will be an outside patio with a beautiful view... over Canyon Lakes and the Blues."
Lori Mattson, President and CEO of the Tri-Cities Regional Chamber of Commerce, says the view and room to grow is the same reason other businesses chose Southridge. Mattson says a number of restaurants and wineries are on the books to break ground over the next few years. For example, she says, "A number of things such as a water park, the hospital expansion; There's a burger place that's going to be built soon."
