FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (AP) - Cody Bartlett's two-run homer with two out in the eighth inning lifted Washington State to an 8-6 win over Kansas State on Friday night in the Fayetteville Regional.
The Cougars (35-20) rallied from a 6-3 deficit with three runs in the seventh, then took the lead on Bartlett's shot to left-center off Wildcats reliever James Allen. It was the first home run allowed by Allen (5-1) this season.
Washington State advances to play Arkansas on Saturday night, while Kansas State (36-21) will take on Grambling State in an elimination game.
Connor Lambert (5-1) struck out the only man he faced in the eighth and got the win. Adam Conley pitched a hitless ninth for his 12th save.
