YAKIMA--The rain couldn't stop the Yakima Valley Kennel Club's yearly dog show at the Central Washington State Fairgrounds.
About 800 dogs of all different shapes and sizes hit the grounds to compete in one of the few outdoor shows on the American Kennel Club's Northwest Circuit.
KNDO caught up with one younger competitor and her pooch. Kimberlee Larsen, a 12-year-old from Cle Elum, is making her mark in a sport normally reserved for older people.
"It's a lot of fun to just go out there and just have fun," Larsen said, cradling her dog Belle. "Doesn't really matter what the score is it's just a lot of fun to go out there."
Larsen did more than have fun; she finished third in the graduate novice class and hoped to bring a second ribbon back home to Cle Elum by day's end.
