Former Prosser mayor charged with child molestation

PROSSER, Wash. -- A former City of Prosser mayor is charged with 3rd degree child molestation for allegedly having sexual contact with a minor.

The family of a 14 year old Prosser High School student claims that Linda Lusk, 49, had sexual contact with the boy. They have filed a temporary sexual assault protection order against Lusk. She has not been arrested. An arraignment is scheduled for next Thursday.

Lusk's husband, Kevin, is also the principal at Prosser High School.  The alleged incident happened in late April, and it didn't take long for word to spread in the tiny town.

"This came about, he told some friends, friends started talking about it and they told authorities and the authorities went to the family of the 14 year old boy," Benton County Prosecutor Andy Miller said Wednesday in a press conference.

Prosser police have handed the case over to the Benton County Sheriff's Office for investigation. They are not releasing the teen's name.
