E. coli found in a Walla Walla County water system

WALLA WALLA COUNTY, Wash. -- The Department of Health and Green Tank Irrigation District 11 are warning some residents of Walla Walla County against drinking tap water.

Potential harmful bacteria, E. coli, has been found in the Green Tank water system. About 170 homes and businesses are served by that system. They are being asked to boil tap water or buy bottled water.

The general Green Tank area is north of College Place and west of Walla Walla. The state health office is working with the water system's operator. The boil-water advisory will be in effect until further notice.
