Discussion today on Yakima-Terrace Heights East-West Corridor
Yakima, WASH-- Yakima County Public Works is looking to build another road connecting Yakima and Terrace Heights. They held an open house tonight to give the public a chance to weigh in on the proposed corridor.
Public Works is already 10 years into the planning process of this project. They have completed the feasibility study and now still need to decide on a rout, get the environmental review completed, and secure tens on million in funding. If it gets the green light it will take another 15 to 20 years to complete.
Right now only Yakima Avenue and Terrace Heights Drive as well as Nob Hill Blvd. connect the two areas. The new corridor would be north of there. It could go as far west as 40th Avenue and as far east as 33rd Street.
