Our Gang Racing will find out how their off-season work will affect the U-17 during an exhibition/testing this weekend at Tastin' n Racin' in Issaquah, Wash.

Owner Nate Brown reports "the boat looks better than ever, so I hope it works as good as it looks!"

Brown said the U-17 will travel the national circuit, although he is still seeking a title sponsor for the Tri-Cities and Seattle races.  Red Dot, PPG, MasterHeat and O'Brien Law Firm have signed on as supporting series sponsors of the U-17.

The Preston, Wash.-based crew stayed busy this winter painting, fabricating a new horizontal wing and uprights, and seasonal maintenance. For more info and photos see their website or Jim Simpson's photo gallery of the U-17 shop HERE.

Brown said the boat is actually more conventional than last year. "Most people wouldn't have seen the difference, but there were some things I tried like a narrower rear wing, different skid fin setup and a different approach to the primary runners.  We've really taken it back to the configurations you see on the U-1 and U-16.  We'll know soon if we like it better."

Nate will again share the seat with nephew Kip Brown.  Kip will be listed as primary driver in Seattle and Madison, with Nate listed as primary in Detroit and Tri-Cities.

Nate and Kip Brown will have the U-17 on the water and Jon Zimmerman is scheduled to get some time in the U-25 at 1:15 pm on each Saturday and Sunday. The Miss Thriftway and Oh Boy! Oberto vintage Unlimiteds will also appear at Tastin' n Racin'. Visit the event website for more information
