NORTH FRANKLIN COUNTY, Wash-- A number of local farmers might need some help after the recent wave of wet weather left their hay crop badly damaged.
The president of the State Department of Agriculture toured a hay field in North Franklin County. He'll take his findings to the governor who could the ask the U.S. Department of Agriculture for some help.
"Essentially what would happen if the thresholds are met, farmers could then perhaps qualify for some low interest loans to be able to help them get over the hump here," explains Dan Newhouse, President of the WSDA.
Farmers are hopeful some warm weather in the forecast could help turn the crop around.
