KENNEWICK, Wash. -- Kennewick Irrigation District crews have been working to replace two main-line valves off Edison Street.
Sunday night KID shut down the area to repair two major leaks. The system had to be drained. The areas affected are from 10th Avenue, down Edison Street, over to Olympia Street.
"The city asked if we can come in and replace them because they are going to be putting in a merge lane in here. On both sides of Metaline to help with access off of Metaline on to Edison Street," said Con Higley, from KID.
Higley says the new valves will now be on the street so residents don't have to worry about a future leak.
As of Monday night, the water is back on in most places. The only place left with out irrigation water is Kimberly Estates.
