Pasco, WA- There is another delay for a high profile murder trial. Franklin County Superior Court Judge Cameron Mitchell recessed the trial until Monday.
Mitchell ruled prosecutors failed to provide the defense team with evidence that could prove Vicente Ruiz was at the Pasco auto body shop on the night 23 years ago when five men died in gunfire.
The evidence includes a recently discovered fingerprint from a car linked to the crime scene.
The judge refused to declare a mistrial, saying the prosecutors' mistake was inadvertent, but Mitchell gave the defense team the rest of the week to review the fingerprint and interview the officer who took the print, and the experts who tested it.
