New youth financial center breaks ground in Terrace Heights
YAKIMA, Wash.- Financial literacy is what the leaders hope Yakima Valley youth will gain from the new Junior Achievement World in Terrace Heights.
Groundbreaking ceremonies were held Tuesday at Pacific Northwest University.
The nearly four million dollar facility will be a site for students throughout Central Washington to get the hands-on experience of the business world.
"It's going to be a great boom to our economy. It teaches financial literacy to the young people in our community. And that's really important for people moving forward getting confidence in what hey can do," said Paul Larson.
Leaders hope to get the pilot programs up and running by this fall. JA world will be available to more than 12-thousand students in our area.
