KENNEWICK, Wash. -- The countdown for the 2010 Tri-City Water Follies is on; the fun begins July 23rd. This year will be the 45th anniversary of the Water Follies and to celebrate, there will be some extra features.
The B2 Stealth Bomber will fly overhead during the air show. Water Follies staff have been working with the military and just recently got the go-ahead. Organizers say the Stealth Bomber has not been a part of the air show in years.
As for the boats, four vintage hydroplanes dating back to the 1950's will return, as well as some "not quite as old" vintage boats; the 1980 Miss Budweiser and the 1982 Atlas Van Lines.
"The Atlas and The Bud were the last of the great thunderboats so they've been in disrepair. They are just now getting put together and they're making this way to our event," said Kathy Powell with the Tri-City Water Follies.
Powell also said they are two of the most popular piston-era boats and should be quite an attraction.
Organizers are still looking for boat patrol volunteers. If you have a boat and want to volunteer your time contact the Water Follies office.
