East Valley teacher faces new challenge, civil law suit
YAKIMA, Wash.- The trial for the East Valley teacher accused of having sex with her student is done but the fight isn't over.
Michele and Kevin Taylor are trying to get their lives back to normal now that Michele's trial is over with.
"It's still a little surreal in that I'm thinking I can't believe this is me that this happened to because its something you read about and think oh, that's crazy and it really happened to us," said Michele Taylor.
It's not a done deal yet. Michele has to wait until September to find out whether she will teach at East Valley again.
Family members from the alleged victims say they are also filing civil law suits against Taylor and the school.
"It's scary for us as a family and its scary that kids have this much control over something like this and it doesn't sit well with me at all," said Taylor.
Taylor and her husband say the trial speaks for itself and they will continue to defend Michele's innocence.
"When we look towards the future there are only certain things we can control we'll go into the battle and fight is and hopefully the truth will prevail in that instance also," said Kevin Taylor.
