RICHLAND, Wash, -Kadlec Regional Medical Center held a ribbon cutting for its acute care unit Monday. All 29 rooms are private and the focus is on comfort.
Soft lighting and warm colors are used to keep patients calm and make them feel at home.
The rooms feature new monitoring technologies and space for loved ones to spend the night.
Unit manager of acute services, Todd Eppich, says he is thrilled with the hospitals recent addition.
"There are a lot of things that are occurring as we strive to meet the needs of the community. All the way from new technologies from just space available to take care of our patients. It's an exciting time to be part of the Kadlec family," said Eppich.
The completion of this floor marks the end of the river pavilion's first phase of construction which began in June, 2008.
This is just the beginning for Kadlec with construction set to add four floors, raising it to ten stories.
