PASCO, Wash. -- A Franklin County judge has declared another mistrial in a high profile murder case.
The defense team says prosecutors withheld evidence that could exonerate Vicente Ruiz. He is accused of murdering five men in a Pasco auto body shop 23 years ago.
The defense asked for a month-long recess in order to investigate and prepare its defense. Prosecutors say Ruiz's lawyers were trying to delay the trial long enough to force the mistrial.
Judge Cameron Mitchell decided against holding the jury for another month.
