Planned Parenthood unveils new building in Ellensburg
ELLENSBURG, Wash. -- Planned Parenthood opened it's doors over 20 years ago in Ellensburg. The old building is now too small, as more and more clients utilize services.
"We see over 2,000 patients a year here in Ellensburg and we're just very excited to have this great new building to better meet the needs of patients in Kittitas County," said Jen Ham, community organizer, Planned Parenthood.
Planned Parenthood provides reproductive health services from annual exams and birth control to counseling and family planning. Closely located to Central Washington University, the Ellensburg Planned Parenthood serves a lot of young women.
"About 50 of our patients are between the ages of 18 and 29," said Ham.
The new building is located in downtown Ellensburg at the corner of Seventh Avenue and Pine Street. The exam rooms are larger and ham said the new building provides better patient privacy.
The Planned Parenthood open house is Thursday night until 7 p.m., so you still have time to check out the new facility. Wine and snacks are being served.
